2025 Technology Ladder Grant Award

MCPL receives a Technology Grant Award from the Missouri State Library

The Montgomery City Public Library is proud to announce the award of a $7,548.00 Technology Ladder Grant award this year to improve patron experience at MCPL.  This project is supported by the Institute of Museum and Library Services under the provisions of the Library Services and Technology Act as administered by the Missouri State Library, a division of the Office of the Secretary of State. MCPL purchased a new Envisionware X25 Countertop Self-Checkout Machine and an outside HPE Aruba AP-567 Wireless Access Point.

The new self-checkout machine is an updated version for patrons to use when the front desk is busy, when they want privacy, when taking safety precautions, or when children want to do it themselves.  This machine also has accessibility controls that can change font size and language to help seeing-impaired and non-English speaking patrons.

The new HPE Aruba AP-567 wireless access point has a stronger and consistent Wi-Fi coverage outside of the library building that can be used during the day and evenings.

"We hope that MCPL is accessible to as many patrons as possible. The updated self-checkout machine and the new outside wireless access point will help patrons have a better user experience at MCPL,” stated Gaylee Harris, director of the Montgomery City Public Library.
